Plain-English summary. SecureMyName.com is a static premium-domain marketplace that runs on Unstoppable Domains' public storefront API. The SecureMyName Brand Checker stores the following on your local device, using the browser's chrome.storage.local API:
That's it. No browsing history, no clicks, no impressions, no email address, no name, no IP address. Nothing about you is transmitted to SecureMyName.com or any third party — ever — by the extension itself.
The extension makes HTTPS GET requests to two hard-coded hosts: api.unstoppabledomains.com (Unstoppable Domains' public marketplace API) and cloudflare-dns.com (Cloudflare's public DNS-over-HTTPS resolver).
api.unstoppabledomains.com/api/public/storefront/<account-id> on extension install + on first popup open after 7 days. ~36 requests, throttled to 4 in parallel to stay under Unstoppable Domains' public rate limits.api.unstoppabledomains.com/api/domain/lander/<domain> seven times (once per TLD) to determine whether each variant is listed for sale on Unstoppable Domains' marketplace.cloudflare-dns.com/dns-query?name=<domain>&type=NS seven times to confirm whether the domain has registered nameservers (i.e. whether it's already registered anywhere). This avoids reporting registered domains as "available" when Unstoppable Domains' database doesn't happen to contain them.These requests include only standard HTTP headers (User-Agent, Accept) and your public IP address (because every HTTPS request includes one — this is unavoidable for any internet connection). The extension does not include any user identifier, your settings, the storefront cache contents, or any cookies in the request body.
The privacy policies of Unstoppable Domains and Cloudflare apply to their handling of these requests on their respective sides. Cloudflare's public DNS resolver is operated under their public privacy commitment that they do not log queries on the 1.1.1.1 / cloudflare-dns.com service. SecureMyName.com runs no third-party advertising trackers and does not set cross-site cookies. Aggregate visitor measurement is done via the standard web-server access log (timestamp, IP, user-agent, requested path, response code) kept for up to 30 days. We do not run Google Analytics on this property.
The site itself sets no first-party cookies for tracking. Any cookies present are session cookies set by the browser for HTTPS connections, not by SecureMyName.com.
All domain transactions on SecureMyName.com are handled by Unstoppable Domains via their public marketplace. When you click a "Buy" or "Make an offer" link from the website or the extension, you leave SecureMyName.com and complete the transaction directly with Unstoppable Domains under their terms and privacy policy. We do not process payments, store payment information, or have access to your Unstoppable Domains account details.
Under GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA, you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of personal data we hold about you. Because the extension stores nothing on our servers and the website only stores aggregate access-log data, the data we hold "about you" personally is effectively zero.
To clear what the extension has stored locally: right-click the extension icon → Manage extension → Site access → Remove from Chrome. That removes the cached portfolio in one step.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be flagged via a banner on the homepage for at least seven days following the update.
