Every brand-research check returns authoritative status from the Unstoppable Domains public API — registered, listed for sale (with price + lease-to-own + Sedo cross-listings), or genuinely available to register with the registration price visible. No DNS-based guessing, no false positives on parked domains.

Features

🔍

Right-click any word

Highlight a candidate name on any webpage, right-click, pick "Check as a brand name". The popup opens pre-loaded with the query.

🌐

All 7 TLDs in one call

.com .net .org .io .ai .co .xyz checked together through Unstoppable Domains' bulk-search API. One request per query, not seven.

💰

Live prices & CTAs

Listed names show the for-sale price + a Buy button. Available names show the registration price + a Register button pinned to the right TLD.

🎯

Portfolio matches

Below the per-TLD grid, the popup surfaces the five closest names from the SecureMyName.com 1,750+ curated portfolio. Instant alternatives.

📱

Popup default, side panel optional

Defaults to popup — fires on every Chromium-derived browser, Opera included. One-click toggle to Chrome's right-hand side panel where supported.

🔒

Zero tracking

No personal data collected. Settings stored locally. Outbound calls go only to api.unstoppabledomains.com — no analytics, no ads, no tracking pixels.

How It Works

  1. Install from the Chrome Web Store — one click, approve three permissions (contextMenus, storage, sidePanel) and one host (api.unstoppabledomains.com). Under 30 seconds.
  2. Highlight any word on any webpage — a brand name you saw in an article, a startup name in a tweet, a candidate you scribbled in a notes app.
  3. Right-click → "Check '<word>' as a brand name" — the popup opens with the query pre-filled and the seven-TLD grid rendering.
  4. Read the grid — orange / amber rows show listed-for-sale with price + Buy. Red rows show registered to someone. Green rows show available to register with the reg price.
  5. Below the grid — five closest-matching names from the SecureMyName portfolio, scored by exact / prefix / substring match. Click straight through to buy, lease-to-own, or make an offer.

Privacy & Data

Zero personal data. Zero tracking. Zero ads.

The extension does not collect, transmit or share any personal data. Your settings (display mode, recent queries) are stored locally in your browser only via chrome.storage.local — never sent to any server. Outbound network calls go to one place only — api.unstoppabledomains.com, the public Unstoppable Domains API — for the per-query domain-search and the SecureMyName portfolio cache. Those calls contain no user identifiers; they are identical for every install. No analytics, no ads, no tracking pixels.

The three Chrome permissions and one host permission exist for the bare minimum surface:

The extension does not request access to: tabs, active tab, cookies, history, bookmarks, geolocation, clipboard, content scripts on third-party sites, or any other privacy-sensitive permission. Full policy at securemyname.com/privacy.html.

Frequently Asked

What does the extension actually do?
You highlight a candidate brand name on any webpage, right-click "Check '<word>' as a brand name", and the popup shows whether the .com .net .org .io .ai .co .xyz are listed for sale, owned by someone, or genuinely available to register. The bottom of the popup surfaces the five closest names from the SecureMyName.com curated portfolio of 1,750+ premium brandable domains.
Is it free?
Yes. Fully free, no in-app purchases, no subscription, no ads. Operated by SecureMyName.com as a research tool for the wider brand-and-domain community.
Which browsers does it support?
Google Chrome 116+ and any Chromium-based browser supporting Manifest V3 — Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, Arc. The popup default fires on every Chromium-derived browser including Opera. The side-panel toggle works on Chrome and Edge; Opera and other forks fall back to popup automatically. Does not work on Firefox or Safari (different extension formats). Desktop only — no Android or iOS.
How accurate is the per-TLD availability check?
Highly accurate. Version 1.0.1 queries Unstoppable Domains' public domain-search API, which returns the authoritative registration status, for-sale price, lease-to-own options, and external (Sedo) marketplace listings for every requested TLD. There is no DNS-based guessing — the API directly returns whether each name is registered or available, and (if listed) the price. Earlier internal builds used a DNS-based fallback that misfired on parked-but-registered domains; the 1.0.1 rewrite eliminated that source of error.
Why does it default to popup instead of side panel?
Opera and a few other Chromium-derived browsers silently do not fire the side-panel open-on-action-click behaviour — the toolbar icon does nothing in those browsers if side panel is the default. Popup default fires on every Chromium-derived browser. Users on Chrome or Edge who prefer the wider side-panel canvas can switch via a one-click toggle in the popup footer; clicking that toggle now auto-opens the side panel and closes the popup so the switch is immediate.
What's the "Listed on Unstoppable Domains" state?
It means the domain is registered AND listed for sale on the Unstoppable Domains marketplace, with a public price you can act on. The row shows the price plus a Buy button that takes you straight to the per-domain lander. Some rows are listed via Sedo's cross-marketplace integration; those carry the same Buy CTA but the underlying broker is Sedo.
What's the SecureMyName portfolio shown in the popup?
Below the seven-TLD grid, the popup shows up to five closest-matching names from the SecureMyName.com curated catalogue of 1,750+ premium brandable domains. They are scored against your query by exact match (+100), prefix match (+40), substring match (+20) and longest-shared-prefix bonus. Each card links to the domain's lander where you can buy, lease-to-own or make an offer. The portfolio cache refreshes every 7 days.
Does it collect any personal data?
No. Settings stored locally via chrome.storage.local, never sent anywhere. Outbound network calls go only to api.unstoppabledomains.com (no identifiers, identical for every install). No analytics, no ads, no tracking pixels.
What permissions does it request?
Three Chrome permissions plus one host permission: contextMenus (right-click menu item), storage (local settings + portfolio cache), sidePanel (side-panel toggle), and https://api.unstoppabledomains.com/* (the bulk domain-search API). No tabs, no history, no cookies, no clipboard, no third-party content scripts.
How do I uninstall it?
Right-click the toolbar icon → "Remove from Chrome". Or via chrome://extensions. All settings and stored data are deleted automatically.
